Park City, Utah is an outdoor lover’s paradise. There are so many incredible hikes in and near Park City that you definitely have to experience for yourself. Here is a list of the top 10 best hikes in Park City.
1| Glenwild Loop (Easy-Moderate)
This is one of the most beautiful hikes in Park City is located right off Kimball Junction exit I-80. This hike is pretty mellow and easy, but can be moderate because of the length. The distance is 8.5 miles or you can take a shorter 4.5-mile loop. This is a great hike in the summer because of the beautiful wildflowers everywhere. Make sure to bring lots of water because there isn’t a lot of shade on this trail. You need to start at the Spring Creek trail head and then take the Stealth Trail to finish the loop. The views are absolutely incredible.
2| Guardsman Pass (Moderate)
The Guardsman Pass trail is a 2.1-mile hike located near Park City. It is a pretty busy trail, but it’s a great hike. This trail also has tons of wildflowers and a lot of people come on this trail to bird watch and it’s the best from May to October. Another bonus is that this trail is dog friendly.
There is another hike that is really worthwhile near this area, tucked just below Guardsman Pass. This trail leads to Bloods Lake which is a beautiful lake with an island, an alpine forest and a cool rock cliff area. The hike down is really pleasant- Heber Valley shows off their beautiful views.
3| Rob’s Trail (Moderate)
Rob’s Trail is a moderate 1-4-mile hike with amazing aspen groves. This hike starts at Bear Hollow Drive and is a really popular trail that loops around the Utah Olympic Park in Park City. The trail winds its way up giving views of the surrounding mountains and nearby resorts.
4| Rattle Snake Gulch (Moderate)
Located in Millcreek Canyon near Salt Lake, Rattlesnake Gulch trail is a heavily trafficked 3.3 mile trail. It’s great during the Summer for wildflowers or in the Fall for all of the beautiful Fall colors. Dogs are allowed to join you here.
5| Round Valley (Easy-Moderate)
The Round Valley Trail is another one of the most popular hikes in Park City. It offers really scenic views and is a great hike for most skill levels. It is a 7.1 mile moderately trafficked hike. This hike is best from April to November. Another bonus is that the trail is dog friendly, but they must be kept on leashes.
This hike can also be as short or long as you would like it to be and you can choose between short loops and longer loops. It’s almost like a choose your own adventure which is really fun. There are so many forks in the road and you can decide which ones to take. The views are also amazing. Make sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen, it gets really hot in this area in the middle of summer and there is not a lot of shaded areas.
6| Armstrong Trail (Moderate)
The Armstrong Trail is one of the most popular hikes in Park City. The hike typically lasts 3-5 miles and the trailhead begins at Silver Star Lift. The hike has really great views of the Park City valley and luckily there is a lot of tree cover and shade. This trail is pretty new and is a great hike during hot summer days. On your way to the top, you will pass a few ski runs before you reach a clearing with incredible views. This hike starts and ends by a yummy café called Silver Star Café so it’s a great place to go for lunch afterwards.
7| Farm Trail (Easy)
This is one of the best hikes in Park City for families. It is an easy paved trail that starts at Park City’s historic McPolin Barn right off of Highway 224. This hike can be as short or long as you would like it to. The hike goes on for miles and the views are really beautiful. You’ll see aspen trees, mountains, creeks and maybe even horses. This hike has a really great pay out for not very much effort.

Located at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon and Brighton Ski Resort. This trail is 0.9 miles and is great for all skill levels. It is accessible year-round and a boardwalk extends out into a meadow and then along the lake shoreline.
10| Living Room Hike (Moderate)
This is one of my very favorite hikes near Park City and it is an incredible place to come for sunset. The drive is just a short way from Park City in the Salt Lake Valley. This hike is relatively short, but it’s also pretty steep. The hike leads to a perch on the foothills above the Natural History Museum of Utah and offers a panoramic view of the Salt Lake Valley.
There are different sets of rocks arranged into seats- making them look like outdoor couches- thus the name the Living room! Another bonus? This hike is dog friendly. You can find it at: Living Room Trailhead, or 383 Colorow Rd., Salt Lake City.
